Our location

We are based right in the centre of Glasgow, one of Europe's most lively cities and a Unesco City of Music. We have occupied our home at Renfrew Street, just behind Glasgow's famous Sauchiehall Street since 1987. In 2011 we expanded our facilities and opened our state of the art dance and production studios at Speirs Locks, joining Scottish Opera and the National Theatre of Scotland.

Renfrew Street campus

Our Renfrew Street campus is located at 100 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G2 3DB. All six of our performances spaces are to be found here as well as the majority of facilities for our programmes. There is also a very vibrant cafe bar.

Speirs Locks Studios

Speirs Locks Studios houses our dance studios, and production arts studios and many of our dance courses. It is just ten minutes walk away from Renfrew Street and is based at 210 Garscube Road, Glasgow, G4 9RR.

How to get here

By plane

Glasgow International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away by taxi and receives flights from all over the world . Prestwick International Airport is home to Ryanair and other short haul airlines. Trains run every half an hour to Glasgow city centre. It is also possible to fly to Edinburgh Airport and connect to Glasgow by bus and train.

By train

Glasgow has two main railway stations: Queen Street and Glasgow Central. Both are within ten to fifteen minutes' walk of the Conservatoire. Visit www.thetrainline.com or www.scotrail.co.uk for more information.

By road

We are located close to the M8 motorway.

From the South exit at Junction 17 (Dumbarton/Kelvinside)

From the West exit at Junction 17 (Dumbarton/Kelvinside), keeping to the right fork.

From the East exit at Junction 16 (Cowcaddens)

Car parking

We do not have car parking facilities at the Royal Conservatoire. There are multi-storey car parking facilities available close by at Cambridge Street,  Concert Square, Dundasvale and  Buchanan Galleries

There is metred on street parking at Speirs Locks Studios.

By subway

The nearest subway station is Cowcaddens. To reach Speirs Locks Studios just follow the path of flowers. For Renfrew Street you can also exit at Buchanan Street.

By bus

The central bus station at Buchanan Street is just five minutes walk from Renfrew Street and 15 minutes from Speirs Locks Studios.

Renfrew Street campus: The following bus services stop outside the Royal Conservatoire on Hope Street: 20, 23, 23A, 41, 50, 54, 55, 66, 75, 801 and 803. For up to date timetables visit the First Glasgow website.
