The Whittaker Library contains one of the most comprehensive collections of performance materials for music and drama in the UK and internationally. All RSAMD staff & students are members and we are open to the public for reference purposes.   Extra-mural membership on payment of an annual fee is available to graduates of the RSAMD.   NB All external visitors are politely requested to ask reception staff for a visitor's pass before proceeding to the Library.

Opening times do occasionally vary and if you are planning to make a journey to visit us it is advisable to call first.

The Library is a member of the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries (SCURL) and the Scottish Library and Information Council (SLIC) and we collaborate in a number of national projects.

The IT Department provides access to a growing number of Electronic Resources via a student IT facilities, including 48 open access PC's in the Opera school area. We also have 14 PC's in the Library.  Please note IT facilities are not available to the public.
