Junior Academy of Music
Transforming lives through music
Music-making can transform and here, at the Junior Conservatoire of Music, we aim to change
lives. But we also like to have fun.
Whether it's through an individual music lesson; playing in the Symphony Orchestra,
Chamber Orchestra, Wind Orchestra or the Big Band; singing in the Choir or taking part in
music workshops - Saturdays will never be the same.
We support all our young musicians to be the best they can be - we have some of the country's
best teachers; our facilities our superb; and we engage with some of the most talented young
musicians from far and wide. You too can be one of them.
Join us at the Junior Conservatoire, change your life and have some fun.
Classes take place from mid September until June and each year about 270 students attend,
from Aberdeen, Annan, Aberfeldy, Ardrishaig, Carnoustie, Dundee, Dunoon, Edinburgh, Falkirk,
Glasgow, Inverness, Moffat, Perth, Pitlochry, St. Andrews, Skye, Newcastle, the Lake District and
Stranraer.
There is a wide variety of music classes available for each student. Students may also have
the opportunity to take part in, or attend, concerts at a number of venues around Scotland. Since
all the classes are held on a Saturday, students can enjoy their music-making without interruption
to their normal weekday school and family life.
The atmosphere is supportive, encouraging and welcoming - above all, students are encouraged
to fully develop their musical potential.
We look forward to welcoming you here.
