Brass

The Brass Department has a long tradition as a centre of excellence and a worldwide reputation made in Glasgow for training tomorrow’s leading musicians. Bachelor of Education

Composition

Conducting

Creative & Contextual Studies

Units of study offered by the department include the History of Western Music, Analysis, Aural Skills, Orchestration and Arranging, Electroacoustic Composition, Music Aesthetics, World Musics, and in conjunction with the Performance departments, units in Style in Performance. Jazz

Designed for students and undergraduate and postgraduate diploma and MMus levels, these specialist pathways for jazz musicians are created and led by the internationally renowned jazz saxophonist Tommy Smith and offers tuition from the best jazz musicians in Scotland.
