Jazz

Following on from the announcement of the introduction of Scotland’s first ever full time jazz course to be headed up by Tommy Smith, the RSAMD is pleased to present Open Day on October Wednesday October 15 ^th 2008. The day, which is free, will include an open jazz workshop from 4.00-6.00 given by RSAMD jazz tutors Ryan Quigley (trumpet) and Alyn Cosker (drums). Bring your instrument along and join in the fun. There’ll also be a chance to ask questions about the new course and the RSAMD in general.

At 7.30 there will be a free concert given by the Ryan Quigley Sextet, with special guests, Mark Nightingale on trombone and Nigel Hitchcock on saxophone.

Whether you’ve already applied or are thinking about it for this year or future years, or just want to hear some great jazz, come along and enjoy the day.
