Oily Cart has developed highly specialised, interactive, multi-sensory theatre for babies, children under six and young people with complex and severe learning disabilities.  This training session is delivered by their co-founder and Artistic Director, Tim Webb.

'British theatre has changed remarkably over the last decade, and Oily Cart has been in the forefront of that revolution. Where it has led, mainstream theatre has often eventually followed. Necessity has proved to be the mother of invention:  the company's particular audience - babies and children who know nothing of the conventions of theatre and care even less for them; young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities - means that Oily Cart had to find new ways to communicate.  It can't just take the easy option and put on a play. In doing so they have forged a new theatrical language which puts the audience, not the actor, centre stage and which understands the word "play" in all its many - and widest-meanings.'      Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
