Musicworks: Introduction
The guiding principle of RSAMD Musicworks Centres is to take music participation to people who
would otherwise not have access to it, not through the RSAMD imposing what it perceives the
community needs but asking local communities at grassroots level the question - " How can we help?"
or by responding to the request "Can the RSAMD help us?"
RSAMD Musicworks Centres aims to make music available to young people across
Scotland regardless of geography or socio-economic background. It uses the broad experience and
expertise of the RSAMD to:

allow an interest in music to be developed

develop an ability in music

provide a clear progression to full time arts training where appropriate
Socialise with RSAMD
