Two out of the three plays are performed each night - please check with the venue
for details.
A ground-breaking new writing collaboration between the Academy and Playwrights’
Studio, Scotland. The first performances of new plays developed by three of Scotland’s best
writers
with actors and directors from the MA Classical and Contemporary Text
programme.
Hartland by Nicola McCartney
Hartland, a small town in the Midwest, slap bang in the middle of the American
flyover zone but weirdly isolated from the rest of the human race. The lives of a handful of
indifferent
individuals are about to cross. Fatefully.
The God of Soho by Chris Hannan
There is a thief in heaven. Meanwhile on earth, fetish items have been stolen
from a goddess of the celebrity world. It's up to some homeless people to restore the stolen goods
to the rightful owners in heaven and earth. A crazy mixed-up mess of a play about the divine.
Heuristics in the Diner by Peter Arnott
Set in a diner at the edge of Santa Fe, New Mexico, June 1945, about a man called
Klaus Fuchs ... who at this central, defining moment passed an envelope containing a detailed
description of the first atomic bomb to a man called Harry, who he believed to be a Soviet spy.
This is an attempt to tell Fuchs's story, before and after.
