Conducting
The RSAMD offers two Postgraduate courses – the PGDip (Conducting) and MMus (Conducting), which provide a comprehensive and integrated programme taken over one year for the Diploma alone or two years including progression to MMus. Normally there would be only one student per year; this allows for maximum performance opportunities. Both courses concentrate intensively on the technique and craft of conducting through a diverse ‘hands on’ experience with the Academy Orchestras, Opera Department and various ensembles.
Tuition is delivered weekly by our in-house team and supplemented by regular sessions with our Conducting Consultants and visiting Conductors. Glasgow has currently an outstanding team of young and inspiring conductors working with its professional orchestras and the RSAMD’s excellent relationships with these organisations affords invaluable and unmatched opportunities for our conducting students.
