Keyboard
The keyboard department offers a number of prestigious scholarships, awards and fellowships,
generously supported by various trusts and donors, including the Inches Carr trust, Musical
Instrument Finance Company and Yamaha. Consideration for major scholarships is decided by a special
panel at the time of auditions. Additionally, competitive prizes also contribute to the resources
available to students and in this respect, the Academy is grateful to the private donors who
support the Academy’s keyboard department. In recent years, the additions of the Tanya Webster
award for rare Russian piano music and the Bamber-Galloway Recital award have provided a major
boost to the resources available for talented students.
RSAMD Accompaniment Fellowships
Additionally, the Academy also offers 3 Fellowships in accompaniment. Each award is worth
£8,000.00 per year. The fellowship programme offers valuable experience and
guidance for those students interested in pursuing a career in collaborative piano.
Interested applicants for the
Fellowship Programme should first direct their enquiries to the Head of Keyboard,
Aaron Shorr.
RSAMD Dance Accompaniment MBF Scholarship
Students interested in applying for the Academy’s Dance Accompaniment course may also be
considered for an MBF scholarship. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements for the MBF
will be considered for this award at the time of their audition.
Interested applicants for the Dance Accompaniment course should apply through CUKAS. Any
enquiries may also be directed to the Head of Keyboard, Aaron Shorr
