Simon is the visiting Saxophone tutor at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and
Drama.
He has held the Principal Saxophone chair in the London Sinfonietta since 1997 and has been a
member of the Michael Nyman band for over a decade. He has released many CD’s for labels such as
Black Box Music, Naxos, Virgin and Warp Records.
As a soloist, Simon has appeared with the London Sinfonietta, Philharmonia Orchestra, London
Philharmonic Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, London Chamber Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra,
BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra of St John’s,
Soloists of the Royal Opera House, East of England Orchestra, Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra and
Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. He has had works written for him by Will Gregory, Dave Heath,
Fraser Trainer, tansy Davis, Andrew Poppy and John Woolrich.
