Visa and Immigration

The UK Immigration system has undergone several changes in recent months and there are planned changes ahead to the rules, policy guidance and application forms for UK Student visas.  It is therefore vital that you keep yourself informed by checking the UK Border Agency and Visa Services websites frequently.  If you have any questions about the above information, please contact John Greenwood our Welfare and International Student Advisor.

Do I need to apply for a visa?

If you are unsure about your status or whether you need a visa then you can check with the UK Visas website using the section “ Do I need a Visa?” You will also find a list of visa application centres and contact details should you wish to contact the British Embassy in your home country for more information.

Travelling through the Republic of Ireland

If you plan to travel to the UK via Ireland , you must apply for entry clearance before you leave your home country because you will not pass through any UK immigration points and will therefore not be able to obtain Leave to Enter as a Student Visitor on arrival.

Once you have found out which visa you will need (by using the above links) you can find out further information by using the appropriate tabs on this page.
