Scholarships and Bursaries

For all students

The Academy is able to offer a number of entrance scholarships which are awarded as part of the audition/selection process on the basis of merit. There is no need to apply for scholarships as all applicants are considered.

For students from Canada, China, India and the USA

Scotland's Saltire Scholarships - This exciting scholarship opportunity is open to citizens of Canada, China, India or USA who have a conditional offer for a full-time Masters course offered at one of 18 Scottish institutions, including RSAMD.

  • Am I eligible?  Please ensure you check the full  eligibility criteria before you apply.  Please also note that awards are not available to students who have already completed their undergraduate studies in Scotland.
  • What does the scholarship cover?  The programme offers awards of £2,000 each to put towards tuition fees on a full-time Masters course at one of 18 institutions in Scotland, including RSAMD. Up to 200 awards are made over the 18 participating higher education institutions.
  • What subjects can I study?   Please see details of the programmes  available at RSAMD.
  • How do I apply?  Applications for 2010 have now opened.  Complete the online application process and send or post your application along with any supporting documents to RSAMD by the closing date Friday 11th June 2010.  If you are posting your application please ensure you leave enough time so that it arrives by the above deadline date.

For students from Australia

The Australian Music Foundation – Support is available to gifted Australian music students, which will enable them to undertake postgraduate study in music institutions in Europe. Over 90 awards have been made to young musicians over a 30 year history. Further information can be found on their website ( www.amf-uk.com )
