Our Priorities
Speirs Locks Studios
The existing home of the RSAMD in Renfrew Street, Glasgow, was designed for 440 students. We
now have over 750 students through our wide range of courses. In order to maintain the highest
standards of excellence in performance and training for all students, outreach participants, and
audiences, we urgently need more space and specialist facilities.
Speirs Locks Studios opened for the 2010/11 academic session and provides a
state-of-the-art creative centre for:
- BA Modern Ballet (36 students by 2011)
- BA and MA Musical Theatre (60 students by 2011)
- BA Technical Production Arts (90 students)
- Community outreach programmes Danceworks and Introduction to the Creative Industries, reaching thousands of children and adults throughout Scotland
The opening of Speirs Locks Studios at Garscube Road, Glasgow was a historic moment for the Academy.
