Woodwind

In June 2008 the RSAMD Woodwind Department celebrated the remarkable career of flautist and teacher David Nicholson . With over 40 years of service, David is our longest standing staff member and is much loved by us here at the RSAMD. A momentous occasion to mark David’s retirement from individual teaching was fitting for such a prominent figure both in the life of the RSAMD and throughout the musical world.

The RSAMD does not wave goodbye to David as he continues dedicated to the Woodwind Department in his capacity as a chamber music specialist and flute techniques tutor.

Say hello…

…to Katherine Bryan , principal flautist with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Katherine has newly joined our illustrious team of teaching staff in the Woodwind Department and is proving highly sought after as a one-to-one teacher. This is a fantastic appointment for the RSAMD and I am sure Katherine’s passion and commitment will translate positively into the lives of our young musicians.
